Hi James,
Just checking, you posted the rules for Shock force, do you have the rules for Trench Crusade? If you don’t you can just google Trench Crusade rules and they are available. If you haven’t already, there is a two page quick rules which I will be using and you may want to print out for yourself. Let me know if you have any questions.
Hey Karl,
For terrain I can bring my one purpose built piece, the bunker, which I made at your house. I am working on some trench sections, but unfortunately they will not be ready in time. The standard game setup says to use at least six ‘large’ terrain pieces, such as my bunker. Some suggestion are, buildings (towers, houses, ruined houses, bunkers, chapels etc.), one Piece of Dangerous Terrain (swamp, barbed wire etc.), one Piece of Difficult Terrain (forest, rocky ground), one Piece of Impassable terrain (12” river with a bridge or ford, sheer cliffs etc.), Maximum two pieces per battle, One Hill, Fence/Wall/other defendable terrain piece (max one per player). In addition there should be 12 smaller terrain pieces such as boxes, sandbags, bomb craters. If you don’t have terrain which you think will work I can bring some of my Turnip28 pieces which can fill in.
Thank you!
Michael

Michael, if you can bring your turnip terrain that would be good I think.
If it's a hassle, I can provide terrain.
Maybe Mattias' Barrow terrain? Creepy rocks and trees and some low mound houses.

Hi Karl,
I can bring my Turnip terrain, but only one piece provides cover. I will have my bunker which will then be two pieces for cover. I thought your chapel that we used for Mordheim would work. Mattias terrain should work too. You also said to remind you to see if you had any sandbags and if you could find the wagon wheels we discussed. Thank you.

Sounds good. I'll grab the Chapel and Mattias' terrain.
Thanks for the reminder on sandbags and wheels.
What size table do you need?

Thanks James.
Great having you and Michael over last night. I'd be interested in hearing any thoughts you two have about Trench Crusade.
Michael, what were the forces?

Re: January 27th Gaming.
Hi Karl,
As always thanks for hosting. I enjoyed the game. The mechanics are fairly simple and the game ran pretty fast. I am sure it would play very quickly once you get the rules down pat. I was playing my Trench Pilgrims and James was using my Heretic Legion. I put these two warbands together because they looked more like ordinary troops instead of the more fantastical aspects of Trench Crusade. I like the Trench Pilgrims because they look like the sort of ragtag troop types that I like. The Heretic Legion I made look more like regular German WWI soldiers which is also good. I enjoy the game as a weird WWI game, I was always interested in WWI and the trench conflict and this game allows me to play an alternate history version of it. The game is indeed dark and I feel they didn’t need to go that far with the lore. I feel you can play the game without having to use the full lore as stated.
Another game I am looking at is Forbidden Psalm: The Last War. This is another WWI alternate history game. In this game WWI ends with a whimper instead of a bang. There are few people left after the carnage of the war and disease, which I think is supposed to be a stand-in for the Spanish Flu epidemic that killed millions at the end of the war. The game plays on a 2’x’2’ board which I love the idea of. This should provide a quick game as well as taking a lot less effort and time to make terrain for it. It would also be easier to store the terrain. The warbands in this game is only 5 figures which should also speed up play. There is a fog which is surrounding the trenches and seems to have a sort of H.P. Lovecraft vibe, another plus. There are also monsters like oversize trench maggots. I have a quick play rules set which I downloaded for free. I am looking forward to trying it out.
I am posting two game photos for Trench Crusade. I have more, but as I ran into before, it says the files are too big.

I just changed some forum settings that should allow larger file sizes.
