Sorry to hear that Michael.
Enjoy the time off!

I will not be able to attend tonight. My wife and I both have today off and will be going out.

For those who don’t know, in case you have a three player game, Chaos on the Streets from Town Cryer #5 is the Mordheim muilti-player scenario. Although I do think more were added later.

Have a great time!

So, its not an experience i'd be missing out on. We would get to play more games in a month, but loose out on a lot of the narative of the campaign. it would mean larger, more predictable jumps between sessions. For example, in my first game I lost a relatively expensive hired gun. I chose to replace him with a cheaper henchman for game 2. If I did not find out he had died until after game 2, I would have definitely had enough money to replace him. In other words, why spend money in campaign turn 1 when you know you will have no risk in game 2 and more money for campaign turn 2? We'll also loose out on some decisions about skills and playing to keep certain characters alive or let them die based on injuries and advancement.

So like I said, i'm either way about delaying campaign progession. It is a fun campaign, but I'm not one of the people who have been waiting 25 years to play it.

Thanks for that Tim,
Makes allot of sense. Do you think we should at least work out injuries after each game?

I dunno ... I feel like I probably missed some of the details of the post-game sequence last week, even just trying to do one game's worth. That, and I just play slow. :-)

That said, I'm good, either way.

Personally I would be a bit bummed to miss out on the campaign aspect; it's the main reason I'm interested in Mordheim to be honest. It would also feel really bad to have a character gain enough XP for an advancement after game 1, only to lose them in game 2 without ever getting to roll their new skill--especially if that skill might have kept them alive in game 2.

But I totally get the desire to play two games in a meeting. If we do, I suppose we would probably at least want to work out injuries after game 1.

Let me know if you all have any specific requests for terrain. I was thinking that I could have 3 tables ready to go and we could jump right in. No worries though if you all want to bring or setup something specific.

Should I plan to bring the box castle, or will you have enough already set up?

Ok,
Let's play with full after battle sequence. Mattias, you can leave the castle at home today and I'll have all the tables ready to go. If we jump right in we may be able to still do 2 games.

Thanks to everyone who came tonight. I'm really getting into the groove of this game. It's ticking off all the boxes that classic Necromunda did for me.

Forget everything I said earlier about trying to rush into a second game. Working through the the after battle and hanging with you all was the better choice for sure.

As always, thanks to those who brought drinks and especially extra walkways and ladders.

Till next time!

PS
Please post your game results and as much batrep as you'd like to the Campaign record here:

Hi all,
Like Mattias I also like the simi-RPG campaign part of Mordheim. Once you get the hang of it figuring out your advancements after a game shouldn’t take too long. For my last game I reviewed my potential advances before we met and so I was ready with what I would spend my gold on after the game.
