2 months is enough that even I could probably get 10 figs done. :D

(snort)

I went full-on speed painting for that robot army, figuring out just how little I could get away with. Don't get me wrong -- I'm pleased with the result, and proud of the work, but part of the reason I dig skirmish-level games is so be able to put a little more time in on the painting.

And besides, you haven't seen my Adepticon haul. I picked up starter boxes for two new Freeblades factions, and some other stuff, and I've been working on terrain ... it's not so much adding ten more minis to the pile, it's adding ten more minis to The Pile. :-D

Hey Folks,
June 10th is set to be the first day of the Mordheim campaign. A few things to address...

-Warbands. I think everything we need is in GW-published documents (Broheim 1a and 1b here: https://broheim.net/warbands.html ). Was anyone needing to use warbands outside of that?

-Has everyone downloaded the rules? Unlike with our Necromunda Campaign, I think we're using the GW Rules as-is.

-The Rules provide a fairly straightforward campaign experience, but we should look over the documents Michael provided on the previous page to see if we want to incorporate some of that.

-Does the Campaign require an organizer? It seems that the rules fairly well handle the campaign, but we've had good experiences with having a member take the helm in the past.

-Does everyone have a Warband? If not, there are members who have warbands to loan and we should arrange that. No one is insisting on GW minis, but I think we're all onboard with hewing toward a classic GW/Mordheim look right?

-Lastly, what's the terrain situation? I think Mattias and Michael may have some appropriate setups. I've got alot of scatter terrain but all my village buildings are enclosed buildings. Ideally, Mordheim is a gothic/tudor fantasy city with varied levels, dense terrain and ruined buildings with accessible interiors.

As we finalize details, I'll start a new thread for tracking the campaign with all resources and information on the first post.

Looking forward to it. Playing Sisters of Sigmar. I have my band stated out using the 500gc starting number. I have all but one model built, based, and primed. Intending to get that done tonight and planning to build and paint 2-3 objective markers as well using spare scatter chests, bits and weapons.

I can offer trees and snow terrain if interested, snow/ice river (and docks and water mat if desired), but I do not have anything in the way of gothic/Tudor buildings. I do have all of my Japanese terrain including several buildings which are playable inside, but I don't think they are really in theme at all. Let me know if we want to use any of the snow/ice terrain, trees, etc. Some medieval gothic buildings are on my list to acquire sometime. But nothing yet.

If anyone needs a warband, I can put together an in whfb style chaos dwarf or dark elf warband to be used.
Cheers,

Here is what I'm thinking for my Mordheim warband. I spent all 500 coins. I used Middenheim Mercenaries with the Wolf Priest of Ulric (1b hired Sword) and his wolf companion.
I would appreciate your thoughts.

9 models, 73 warband rating
Captain - Sword, Dagger, Heavy Armor, Shield, Helmet, Wolf Cloak
Champion - Axe, Dagger, Shield, Wolf Cloak
Youngblood - Spear, Dagger, Shield
Youngblood - Sword, Dagger, Shield, Wolf Cloak
Wolf Priest - Mace, Dagger, Wolf Cloak, Ulric's Howl (prayer I rolled, can reroll at the beginning of the campaign if you prefer)
Wolf Companion - Fangs, Wolf Cloak
Warrior - Spear, Dagger, Shield
Warrior - Double-Handed Sword, Dagger
Swordsman - Sword, Shield

Hi Karl,
I have had the rules since I bought the game in 1999.

I don’t think the campaign needs an organizer, but I would be willing to help if needed.

I will be using my Slaneesh warband, The Debauched Ones, using the Cult of the Possessed rules. My starting band is:
Ishtar the Lewd, Magister with a sword
The Brute, Possessed with great claw
The Disfigured, Possessed with extra arm
Ivec, Mutant with axe, bow, helmet and blackblood
Rhall, Mutant with axe, shield, daemon soul
Treasury 10 gold coins
Total warband 500 gc
All my miniatures are from G.W., but not official Mordeim figures. They are all custom built.

If anyone has enclosed fantasy building they will also work as long as there are open building in the setup. In the lore if you are further from the impact crater in Mordeim the buildings are less damaged with some just appearing to be abandoned. If you look at the Mordeim map you can see that some scenarios can be played in more undamaged areas and others in total ruins.

Tim, Michael and James,
Very cool that you guys already are working up your warbands. I don't know enough about the system to comment on them, but they certainly look diverse and characterful!

I'll try to get mine up this week, but I'm also preparing for TMX, so it might not be til next week.

I'll probably start a dedicated thread that is not for discussion, but reserved for where each week we can post the results of our games and explorations and the current status of our warbands.

Thanks Michael,
I agree that we probably don't need an organizer, but it will be nice to have your experience if we run into questions and such.

I think also that having some buildings as enclosed is fine if there's a mix.

The enclosed buildings and bridges I have from earlier are these...

...and these...

...and I'm just about finished with a set of scatter terrain that I shared one piece of on the discord.

I of course also have the white stucco (Italian/Spanish/Colonial/etc) buildings you all have seen before, but I don't think they're very grimdark, and I'm all about scenics that meet the desired atmosphere.

For organizing:

The main rulebook campaign is pretty self-contained. Personally, I think it's probably best to stick with that for our first time out. If we decide it would be useful to have someone keeping track of details (match records, etc) I would be happy to volunteer.

For terrain:

I have my illustrated castle which, with my stair stackers and bridges can make a thematic table with lots of levels.

They do not really include playable buildings--though I could whip up a couple of dungeon tiles to represent the accessible interiors 'off-table'.

I do not have much in the way of scatter terrain or ruins, however.

My Warband:
is assembled and primed. I plan on painting them 'alla prima' with oils over the next week, using the Zorn/Blanche limited palette of cad red, yellow ochre, black, and white for that authentic grimdark feel. I've got:

Cult of the Possessed
Magister 70
Dagger
Possessed 90
Possessed 90
Mutant 25
Dagger
Great Claw 50
Mutant 25
Mace 3
Scorpion Tail 40
Dagger
Beastman 45
Mace 3
Shield 5
Beastman 45
Mace 3
Shield 5

Thanks Mattias,
I think your castle sections have so much variation in height and flat tops that accessible interiors aren't necessary.

Do you have any walkways and ladders to add? I think for everyone's terrain setups extra ladders and walkways would be useful.

Yup! Definitely have walkways, ladders, and modular stairs.
