While wandering around Ikea, I spotted a mound of bright green, square, shaggy rugs and decided to use one as a grasslands mat. The rug is called Hampen in Ikea's naming system. It is 80cm (~31.5 in.) square, so will be slightly small but suitable for Song of Blades and Heroes, Bushido, or many other small skirmish games. Rad idea! Has a fairly convincing appearance in pictures.
Lol, that Pegasus river's pre-paint job kind of bothers me. The lighter blue should be on the edges, and darker in the middle. :) I should try repainting mine sometime for comparison's sake.
